Collector’s Edition Print

Created during Joe Harris’s early explorations with xerography, Purple Cross reflects his groundbreaking experimentation with emerging color copier technology in the early 1970s.

Working with equipment provided by Xerox, Harris pushed the boundaries of photography by manipulating images in ways that traditional darkroom techniques could not achieve.

Purple Cross stands as a powerful example of Harris’s vision — blending bold form, vibrant color, and spiritual symbolism into an innovative new visual language.

Printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl — a premium 100% cotton paper renowned for its luminous finish and vivid tonal range — the image has been expertly optimized for exceptional clarity, depth, and archival quality.

Mounted on Alu-Dibond 0.12" for superior stability and framed with a Basel 1.2" Black Oak float frame, this edition features a full-bleed display without a border, allowing the bold composition to fully command the viewer’s attention.
The artwork measures 12 × 19 inches, with external framed dimensions of 15 × 22 inches.

Each piece is individually numbered, estate-stamped, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from the Estate of Joe Harris.

Only five editions of this work will be released.
